TikTok advertising that turns scrolls into PAYING CUSTOMERS.
Our TikTok ads agency plans, makes and runs TikTok ads that look like TikTok, not like adverts. We boost the videos your buyers already love as Spark Ads, send interested people straight to WhatsApp or a form, and count every message, lead and sale. For businesses in Nigeria, across Africa, the UK and the US.
Your ad account stays yours. Your ad budget goes straight to TikTok, and every week you see what we tested, what it cost and what it brought in.
POV: your 3-tier birthday cake arrives before the party even starts. Delivery anywhere in Lagos.
Original sound · tolabakes.lagos Send messageAn example ad, not a real client. It shows the kind of TikTok ad that sells: a real customer, a real reason and one tap to WhatsApp.
Tap the question you came with
This is our complete guide to TikTok advertising, with everything you need to advertise on TikTok, and the page where we sell our TikTok ads management. Before formats and budgets, one question decides everything: what do you need TikTok to do for your business? More orders, more leads, more people walking into your shop? Hold that answer, then tap the question you came with.
Why your TikTok views are not turning into sales
You made the video. Maybe you paid to boost it. The views climbed to 20,000, then 50,000. Then you checked WhatsApp. Nothing. A few people commented “how much?” and went quiet after you replied. That money could have bought stock or paid a salary, and you are left wondering if TikTok is only for dancing teenagers. It is not. But TikTok advertising that sells looks very different from the ads that sell anywhere else.
One review in Kenya, one sale weekend in Leeds, and a test you can run today
In April, a Kenyan creator posted an honest review of Godrej’s new aer Pocket air freshener. No studio, no script. Instead of making a polished advert, the brand boosted that same review as a Spark Ad through May and June, aimed at the women who buy for their homes.
The creator’s video passed a million views in four days. Sales doubled month on month, and according to TikTok’s case study, aer Pocket became number one in its category in Kenya, with 33% of the market, held for three months.
In Leeds, two sisters run Omolola Jewellery, a West African-inspired brand. For the 2020 Black Friday weekend they ran three simple In-Feed ads of models wearing their pieces, with the sale in the message. Five days brought 1.8 million impressions and almost 20,000 clicks. The local press later reported that sales that year rose 1,035%, and orders went from about 50 a week to sometimes hundreds a day.
Neither brand outspent anyone. Neither ran a TV advert on a phone. They ran ads that looked like the videos people were already watching, with one clear thing to do next.
That is the gap we see when businesses come to us after TikTok “did not work”. The video was a flyer with music. The boost was set to buy views, so TikTok found people who watch, not people who buy. The link went to a homepage, or nobody answered the DMs. And when nothing happened in three days, the campaign was paused, which can send TikTok’s learning back to the start.
So try this today. Open your last three TikToks. Count the seconds before your product or offer appears. Read the caption: does it tell people what to do? Then check how long the last “how much?” comment waited for a reply.
- 1Does the hook land in the first 3 seconds?
- 2Would it look normal between two friends’ videos?
- 3Is there one clear next step?
- 4Will someone answer within 5 minutes?
Godrej aer and Omolola figures as reported in TikTok’s own case studies, with Omolola’s sales growth from the Yorkshire Post group. The two ads drawn here are illustrations.

Four mistakes that waste TikTok ad budgets
These are the problems we find most often when we audit a TikTok ad account that is spending without selling.
Running a TV advert on TikTok
Logo first, music, a price list. TikTok’s own data shows over 63% of the highest-clicked ads put the key message in the first 3 seconds.
Fix: hook first, logo laterPaying for views, not buyers
A boost set to “more views” finds people who like watching. If you want messages, leads or sales, the objective has to say so.
Fix: pick the right objectiveNo easy way to buy
A homepage link, a form with ten questions, or DMs nobody answers until tomorrow. Interest cools in minutes, not days.
Fix: one tap to WhatsAppStopping before it learns
TikTok says results often settle after about 7 days or about 25 conversions. Pausing or big edits can restart that learning. Fix real errors at once; leave the rest alone.
Fix: plan for the learning phaseViews are attention. Messages are interest. Only sales pay the bills.
That is why Greenlearners Technologies runs all our TikTok advertising as a system: videos made for the first 3 seconds, the right ad format for your goal, a straight path to WhatsApp or a form, and someone answering fast. Sometimes the answer is one customer video boosted as a Spark Ad. Sometimes it is ten creators and a weekly stream of new hooks. The aim is never more views. It is more customers, at a cost you can live with. The free tools further down show how we plan it.
TikTok advertising pricing: four ways to work with us
Clear TikTok ads prices, in writing, before you pay anything. Our fee is separate from your ad budget, which you pay to TikTok from your own card. Pick your currency, then pick how much of the work you want done for you.

TikTok sells ads through an auction. Your ad budget goes to TikTok. Our fee is separate, and we never mark up your spend.
TikTok’s budget rules are written in US dollars, and Nigerian advertisers usually pay in dollars, so you need a card or balance that can spend in dollars. TikTok asks for a campaign daily budget of more than $50 and an ad group daily budget of more than $20, according to its budget rules. You choose how TikTok bids: Maximum Results spends the budget to get as many results as it can, and Target Cost per Result tries to keep your average cost near a number you set, per TikTok’s bidding guide. Ad spend is paid to TikTok, separate from our fee, and we show you both every week. How we count what is in each plan
A price only means something when you know what counts. This is ours, in writing.
Our fee and your ad budget
Two separate payments. Your ad budget goes to TikTok, from your own card or balance, in your own TikTok ad account. Our fee is for the work, paid to us. We never mark up your spend and you see both every week.
The 20% rule
You pay the flat monthly fee until 20% of your ad spend is bigger. On Grow Every Week with ₦2,000,000$2,000£1,600€1,800 of spend, 20% is ₦400,000$400£320€360, so you pay the flat ₦500,000$950£760€855. On ₦4,000,000$6,000£4,800€5,400, 20% is ₦800,000$1,200£960€1,080, so you pay that. The percentage replaces the flat fee; it is never added on top.
The minimum ad budget
₦900,000$1,200£960€1,080 a month, paid to TikTok, and ₦4,500,000$10,000£8,000€9,000 for Own Your Market. TikTok will not run an ad group on less than $20 a day, and a campaign needs more than $50 a day, so smaller budgets cannot test properly. Below this, we will tell you to start with Promote, and show you how.
A new ad video
One finished vertical video with its own hook, edited, captioned and sized for TikTok. A new hook on the same footage counts as a new ad, because the first 3 seconds decide most of the result. Filming days and paid creators are quoted before the work.
A lead and a customer
A lead is a message, form or call that TikTok recorded as a result. We remove spam, duplicates and wrong numbers before we report. A customer is a lead that paid. We report both, because 100 cheap messages nobody answers are worse than 20 that buy.
A month
Thirty days from the day your campaign goes live, not the calendar month, so a mid-month start does not cost you days. Cancel with 14 days notice. Your TikTok ad account, Pixel, videos and data stay yours.
Pay in naira, dollars, pounds or euros by card or bank transfer. No long contract: monthly plans stop with 14 days notice. Not sure which plan fits? Use the free TikTok budget planner further down, or message us and we will tell you honestly, even if the answer is the smaller one. Need TikTok as part of a bigger plan, with Meta ads, Google ads and WhatsApp to close? See our paid advertising services or our growth plans and pricing.
TikTok advertising can now reach more Nigerian adults than Facebook ads
TikTok advertising is paying TikTok to show your videos to the people most likely to buy, in the For You feed, in search results and in other places across the app. In Nigeria, that audience has grown faster than anywhere we advertise. These are the numbers advertisers can actually reach, from each platform’s own ad tools, as published by DataReportal’s Digital 2026 Nigeria report.
Potential ad audiences among adults aged 18 and over, from each platform’s own ad tools, late 2025. They are not daily users or guaranteed reach, and each platform counts them its own way. Source: DataReportal.
Why TikTok ads work, in TikTok’s own numbers
From TikTok’s published tests and research, with the year each one was measured. Platform tests are averages, not promises. More numbers like these are in our 169 digital marketing statistics.
TikTok, 2022. In TikTok’s own test, Spark Ads, which boost a real post, had a 134% higher completion rate than standard In-Feed ads. Your best organic video is a ready-made ad. Source.
TikTok, 2020. TikTok found that most of its best performing auction ads showed the key message or product in the first 3 seconds, and vertical videos had a 25% higher 6-second watch-through. Source.
TikTok and Kantar, 2021. In the same study, 73% said they would stop to watch an ad with audio. Silent ads waste half of what makes TikTok work. Source.
“TikTok is only for young people dancing.”
In Nigeria, TikTok’s ad tools can reach 47.8 million adults aged 18 and over, about 38% of all Nigerian adults, and 68% of them are men, according to DataReportal. People search TikTok for recipes, fabric, phones, schools and suppliers. If your buyers are adults with a smartphone, many of them are already scrolling. The question is whether your ad looks worth stopping for.Types of TikTok ads, and which ones you can actually buy
TikTok advertising comes in two kinds. Auction ads you can buy yourself in TikTok Ads Manager, any day, from a small daily budget. Reserved ads, like TopView, are booked through TikTok’s sales team at a fixed price, and only for qualified advertisers. Swipe through the main TikTok ad formats. Each card says what it is, who it suits and whether a Nigerian business can use it today. Most businesses should start with the first eight. The last five are for TikTok Shop sellers and big brands with reserved budgets.

- Packs from ₦800 when we checked from Nigeria in October 2026
Many guides still list Brand Takeover ads, the full-screen ad that used to appear when the app opened. When we checked in October 2026, TikTok’s help centre no longer had a page for it. The app-open spot is now sold as TopView, and in March 2026 TikTok announced Logo Takeover, Prime Time and TopReach for big brands. If an agency sells you a Brand Takeover, ask which product TikTok will actually book.
Which TikTok ad type fits your business?
Five quick answers. We match you to the TikTok ad formats we would start with, what each one needs, and the ones that are not for you yet.
TikTok advertising cost: what TikTok ads cost in naira, dollars and pounds
TikTok does not publish a price list. Every ad is sold through an auction, so the price of a view, a click or a lead changes with your audience, your season and, most of all, your video. What TikTok does publish are the minimums. Start there, then work out what you can afford to pay for one customer.
Minimums from TikTok’s budget rules (updated July 2026) and learning phase guide. Naira at ₦1,350 to $1, as an example; your bank’s rate and card fees decide the real cost. These are TikTok’s minimums, not the budget we recommend. Our plans start from ₦900,000 or $1,200 a month, so TikTok gets enough results to learn from.
TikTok ad costs: what the published benchmarks say
Two of the most quoted 2025 and 2026 datasets, both from ecommerce brands, mostly in the US. Neither says how many advertisers or which countries are inside. Treat them as a rough range, not a promise.
Lebesgue, September 2026. Ecommerce conversion campaigns, with a 0.61% click-through rate and a 1.92% conversion rate. Source.
Triple Whale, 2025. Ecommerce brands on its platform: $32.74 cost per purchase, 1.77% click-through and 2.21 return on ad spend. Median CPMs by industry ran from $3.79 to $6.33. Source.
Our research, October 2026. We found no published TikTok cost benchmark for Nigeria or Africa with a clear method. Anyone quoting a Nigerian CPM as fact is quoting their own accounts, or guessing. We show you your real numbers from week one.
Five things that move your TikTok advertising cost
Under ₦400,000 a month? Start with Promote, not Ads Manager.
Promote is TikTok’s boost button inside the app. When we checked from a Nigerian account in October 2026, Promote packs started at ₦800, though packs and prices change by account and video. It cannot target like Ads Manager, but it is the cheapest way to learn which video people respond to. Boost only videos that are already doing well, pay on the web where you can, because TikTok says some in-app mobile payments carry an extra fee, and once one video brings messages, move it into Ads Manager as a Spark Ad. Our blog shows how to grow on TikTok for free first.TikTok ads budget and results planner

How to run TikTok ads from Nigeria, step by step, with the real rules
Half of what you will read online about TikTok ads in Nigeria is out of date. Some agencies still say Nigerians cannot open their own ad account. Some blogs still quote card limits from three years ago. This is what we checked, with the source beside each step.
- 1Account
Open your own TikTok ad account
Nigeria is on TikTok’s list of self-serve countries, with Egypt, Kenya, Morocco and South Africa (updated November 2025). You do not need to rent an agency account. TikTok asks for an official business website and says a social media profile does not count. Most account reviews take under 24 hours, though some ask for extra documents.
Keep the account in your business name - 2Payment
Pay TikTok in dollars, the right way
TikTok’s minimums are set in US dollars, so you need a way to spend in dollars. Some Nigerian banks raised their naira card limits in 2026: Nairametrics reported GTBank at $40,000 a quarter and Zenith at $50,000 a year in September. Your own limit depends on your card and bank, so confirm it first. Other routes are a dollar virtual card, a domiciliary account card, or a naira transfer service such as AdPay, which listed 3.5% plus VAT when we checked. Payment options differ by account, so we test yours before launch.
Checked October 2026. Rules and fees change - 3Approval
Plan for ARCON approval before the ad runs
ARCON says adverts aimed at Nigerians, including social media ads, need approval from its Advertising Standards Panel before they run. In April 2025 the Federal High Court in Lagos backed that power, while a 2026 ruling voided its ₦60bn fine on Facebook, so how far it reaches is still argued in court. The last vetting fees ARCON published, in 2023, started at ₦7,500 for a 7-day review. We confirm today’s process and fee for your campaign and build it into the timeline. General information, not legal advice.
We check and handle it for you - 4Your industry
Check TikTok’s rules for what you sell
Finance, health, weight loss and alcohol have extra rules. For Nigeria, TikTok’s financial services policy wants advertisers licensed and ads limited to adults, and it bans ads for debt help, get-rich-quick schemes, MLM and pyramid schemes. Weight claims are 18+ only, with no guaranteed results.
Checked before we write a single script - 5Diaspora
Reaching Nigerians in the UK, US and Canada
Selling property, school places, food or events to the diaspora? TikTok says the locations you can target depend on the country you registered your account in. So we check the options on your own account before we promise a market, and use a UK or US business account where you have one. Pair the ads with diaspora creators your buyers already follow.
Targeting checked on your account first - 6TikTok Shop
TikTok Shop is not open in Nigeria yet
TikTok’s help centre lists 15 TikTok Shop markets, including the US, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Brazil, Mexico and South East Asia. Nigeria and the rest of Africa are not on it. Since July 2025, GMV Max is the only campaign type for TikTok Shop ads. Sellers in Nigeria do better with ads that open WhatsApp or a website. Diaspora sellers need a business, bank account and delivery set up in a Shop market; picking the UK in Seller Center is not enough.
We say so before you spend
TikTok ad readiness and rejection checker
Fourteen checks we run before any TikTok ad goes to review. Most ads that get rejected or never spend fail one of these. “Not sure” counts as a gap, because if nobody knows, nobody is checking.
- Your business has an official website that is live, not only a social page
- Your card or balance can pay in US dollars, with international spending switched on
- Tracking is ready: the TikTok Pixel for website ads, or lead and message alerts for forms and WhatsApp
- Your landing page loads fast on a phone and every button works
- Your site shows a privacy policy, plus a refund policy if you sell online
- The product, price and offer in the ad match the landing page exactly
- No exaggerated claims like “guaranteed”, “100% cure” or “the best in Nigeria”
- No TikTok logo, and no other brand’s logo you do not own
- Captions and on-screen text are spelled correctly, with no shouting in capitals
- Videos are vertical, TikTok’s recommended 9:16, with sound, and the offer shows in the first 3 seconds
- ARCON vetting is checked and planned for ads aimed at Nigerians
- Each ad group gets more than $20 a day, and a capped campaign more than $50
- Your audience is broad enough, not cut down to one city, one age and one interest
- You will avoid needless edits for the first 7 days, and fix real errors at once
Eleven real TikTok advertising campaigns, and the lesson each one teaches
Big and small, African and diaspora, shops, services, apps and music. Every number comes from the case study linked on each card, and most were published by TikTok, so read them as wins, not typical results. You will not copy the number. You can borrow the move, so each card ends with how we would try it here.
Godrej aer Pocket
A local creator posted an honest review of the new air freshener. The brand boosted that same post as a Spark Ad, aimed at women 18 and over.
Sales doubled month on month. 10M+ views and 5M+ people reached in Kenya.
The lesson: One honest local review, with budget behind it, can outsell a polished advert.
Try it here: Send your product to three local creators your buyers already follow, then boost the most honest review.
TikTok case studyKilimall
The Kenyan marketplace paired Smart+, TikTok’s automated campaigns, with branded Spark Ads and full-funnel measurement.
Sales rose 6 times compared with the second quarter, TikTok said in its first-year Kenya announcement.
The lesson: Once your videos work, letting automation find buyers can multiply sales, not just add to them.
Try it here: Once two or three videos bring orders, test Smart+ against your own campaign for two weeks, and keep the cheaper one.
Report in The Standard groupFreedom of Movement
The fashion brand ran Spark Ads on lifestyle videos of different models wearing the autumn and winter 2023 range outdoors, on what it called a small budget.
The brand’s store footprint grew 64% from October 2023, and it moved budget from other platforms to TikTok.
The lesson: A small budget goes far when the ad looks like a normal TikTok of how people really wear your product.
Try it here: Film real customers wearing or using your product on Lagos or Abuja streets, not in a studio.
TikTok case studytalabat
To launch its new name in Egypt, the food delivery app ran a playful TopView of the ordering process, then retargeted everyone who engaged with cheaper In-Feed ads.
In-Feed click-through rose from 0.76% to 2.15% once the TopView had run.
The lesson: Make a big first impression, then follow up cheaply with the people who showed interest.
Try it here: Retarget everyone who watched your launch video with a cheaper offer ad and a WhatsApp button.
TikTok case studyOmolola Jewellery
Two sisters running a West African-inspired brand made three In-Feed ads of models wearing their jewellery, for the Black Friday weekend in 2020.
1.8M impressions and almost 20,000 clicks in five days. Orders went from about 50 a week to sometimes hundreds a day.
The lesson: A small, culture-rooted brand can run its own ads around one sale weekend and make its year.
Try it here: Pick one big sale moment, like Black Friday or Detty December, and run three simple ads around it.
Yorkshire Post group reportNature Spell
The family haircare brand turned reviews from customers and creators into Spark Ads, with separate ads for getting known and for getting the sale.
A £1.11 cost per purchase, and 1 million TikTok Shop orders within 12 months.
The lesson: Real customers’ reviews make the best ads. Split “get known” ads from “get the sale” ads.
Try it here: Ask happy customers for 20-second video reviews, then run one set of ads to get known and another to sell.
TikTok case studyHammerson
The shopping centre owner ran creator-led gifting videos as Spark Ads, targeted by how far people lived from each centre, from 5 to 28 December 2023.
Over 20M impressions at an average £2.49 CPM. The year before, it did not use TikTok.
The lesson: TikTok can fill a physical shop when you target by distance and give people a reason to visit.
Try it here: Target people within a few kilometres of your shop, and give them a reason to come in this week.
TikTok case studyThe Perfume Shop
Before the holidays, the fragrance retailer bought TikTok Search Ads on high-intent keywords, matched each video to its keywords and added Carousel ads.
Cost per click fell from £0.37 to £0.15. Carousels reached 7.66% click-through.
The lesson: People search TikTok like Google now. Show up with the ad that answers exactly what they typed.
Try it here: Say the words your buyers search on TikTok out loud, on screen and in the caption of every ad.
TikTok case studyStepful
The healthcare careers school ran lead ads with student testimonials and creator videos, sent people to a form on its own site, and kept existing leads out of the targeting.
85,500 form submissions at a 9.6% submission rate.
The lesson: For a service, let happy customers tell the story, and only pay to reach people you do not have yet.
Try it here: Schools and clinics: let past students or patients tell the story, and keep existing leads out of the targeting.
TikTok case studyTailor Brands
The logo and branding platform worked with 10 mid-tier creators on small business tips videos, ran them as Spark Ads, and gave each creator a coupon code.
7M people reached and 9M+ video views.
The lesson: Teach first, sell second. Tips from creators your buyers trust convert better than a pitch.
Try it here: Selling to businesses? Teach one useful tip first, then offer a free audit or a quote.
TikTok case studyMagnetic Moon
The independent label boosted the artist’s own posts as Spark Ads to fans of house, EDM and indie music, linking straight to the song.
255K people reached, with a click-through rate of 0.66%.
The lesson: An artist does not need a label-sized budget. Boost your best clip to fans of your genre and link to the song.

How Greenlearners Technologies runs your TikTok ads
Most people who want to run TikTok ads do not need more views. They need the right people to see the right video, tap once, and land in a conversation with someone who answers. As a TikTok ad agency, our TikTok advertising management covers the whole path, from the first 3 seconds of the video to the moment the money arrives.
A WhatsApp tap is not a customer yet. The reply is where the sale happens.
Someone still wants the price, the delivery fee and how to pay, and if nobody answers, the sale goes cold. So we plan the reply as carefully as the ad. TikTok’s Instant Messaging ads can send people straight to WhatsApp, and its Instant Form collects leads without leaving the app. Our WhatsApp marketing services team sets up the replies and catalogue, and our marketing automation keeps following up with people who went quiet. Messaging features vary by account, so we confirm yours first.

TikTok advertising: your questions, answered
What is TikTok advertising?
TikTok advertising is paying TikTok to show your videos to the people most likely to buy from you: in the For You feed, in TikTok search results and in other spots across the app. You choose a goal, such as sales, leads, messages, app installs or reach, and TikTok’s auction shows your ad to people it predicts will take that action. TikTok ads are bought in TikTok Ads Manager at ads.tiktok.com, or with the Promote button inside the app for small boosts.
How much do TikTok ads cost?
TikTok does not publish a price list, because ads are sold by auction. What it does set are minimums: more than $20 a day for each ad group, and more than $50 a day if you set a campaign budget. Published benchmarks from ecommerce brands, mostly in the US, put the average cost per 1,000 views between about $4.80 and $13.26 in 2025 and 2026. There is no reliable published figure for Nigeria. The real cost depends on your video, your audience and your goal, so we show you your own numbers from the first week.
What is the minimum budget for TikTok ads?
In TikTok Ads Manager, each ad group needs a daily budget of more than $20, and a campaign budget, if you set one, must be more than $50 a day. A lifetime budget for one ad group must cover $20 for every day it runs, so 31 days is $620. At ₦1,350 to the dollar, $20 a day is about ₦27,000. Our plans start from a ₦900,000 or $1,200 monthly ad budget, so TikTok has enough to learn from.
How much does a TikTok ads agency cost?
Our TikTok ads management starts at ₦550,000 or $600 for a one-off setup and first campaign, and ₦500,000 or $950 a month for weekly management with 8 new ads a month. Larger plans include more videos, creators, WhatsApp follow-up and a dedicated team. Monthly plans are a flat fee or 20% of ad spend, whichever is greater, and your ad budget is paid to TikTok separately and never marked up. All four plans are in the pricing section.
Are TikTok ads worth it?
Advertising on TikTok is worth it for many businesses, if your product shows well on video and you can make new videos regularly. TikTok’s ad tools reach 47.8 million Nigerian adults, more than Facebook, according to DataReportal. TikTok ads are not worth it if you plan to run a polished TV advert, judge success by views, spend below the minimums, or cannot reply to messages the same day. Our free budget planner shows whether your numbers can work before you spend.
Can I run TikTok ads from Nigeria?
Yes. Nigeria is on TikTok’s list of countries where businesses can open their own ad accounts in TikTok Business Center, alongside Egypt, Kenya, Morocco and South Africa, as updated in November 2025. You do not need to rent an agency account. TikTok asks for an official business website, says a social media profile does not count, and says most account reviews take under 24 hours, though some ask for extra documents.
How do I pay for TikTok ads in Nigeria?
TikTok’s minimums are set in US dollars, and Nigerian advertisers usually pay in dollars. The common routes are a naira card with international spending switched on, a dollar virtual card, a domiciliary account card, or a naira transfer service such as AdPay. Nairametrics reported in September 2026 that GTBank raised its naira card limit to $40,000 a quarter and Zenith to $50,000 a year. Check your own bank’s limit before you launch.
Why is my card declined on TikTok Ads Manager?
Usually because international spending is switched off, your bank’s dollar limit is used up, or the billing country and currency on the account do not match your card. Switch on international transactions in your bank app, check your limit, and make sure the account is set up in US dollars. If it still fails, a dollar virtual card or a domiciliary card usually works. We set this up and test it during Launch Right.
Do TikTok ads in Nigeria need ARCON approval?
Yes. ARCON says adverts aimed at Nigerians, including TikTok ads, need approval from its Advertising Standards Panel before they run, and it began enforcing this for digital adverts on 1 March 2023. In April 2025 the Federal High Court in Lagos backed its power over social media adverts, though other rulings have limited how it can enforce. The last fees ARCON published, in 2023, started at ₦7,500 for a 7-day review. We confirm the current process and fee for each campaign and plan it into the timeline. This is general information, not legal advice.
What are Spark Ads on TikTok?
Spark Ads let you boost a real organic TikTok post, from your own account or from a creator’s with their permission, instead of uploading a separate advert. The likes, comments, shares and follows the ad earns stay on the original post. To use a creator’s post, the creator turns on ad authorisation in the app and sends you a code that lasts 7, 30, 60 or 365 days. In TikTok’s own 2022 test, Spark Ads had a 134% higher completion rate than standard In-Feed ads.
What is the difference between Spark Ads and In-Feed ads?
Both appear in the For You feed. A standard In-Feed ad is a video you upload only as an ad, and its engagement stays on the ad. A Spark Ad is an In-Feed ad that boosts an existing organic post, so it keeps the real account name, the real comments and the social proof, and its engagement adds to the post. Most of our campaigns use Spark Ads for trust and standard In-Feed ads for testing new hooks fast.
What types of TikTok ads are there?
The main self-serve TikTok ad types are In-Feed ads, Spark Ads, lead generation ads with Instant Forms, Messaging ads to WhatsApp or TikTok’s inbox, Carousel ads, Search ads, Smart+ campaigns, app promotion ads and, for TikTok Shop sellers, GMV Max. Reserved formats, booked through TikTok’s sales team, include TopView, TopReach, Prime Time, Logo Takeover, Pulse and Branded Mission. Promote is the simple boost inside the app. Our ad format finder suggests which ones fit you.
What is TopView, and how much does it cost?
TopView is the first video people see when they open TikTok: full screen and sound on for 3 seconds, then it becomes a normal feed video. It is a reserved format, booked at a fixed CPM through TikTok’s sales team, and only for qualified advertisers. TikTok does not publish a TopView price, and it varies by market and date, so it suits national launches with large budgets. Most businesses get far more from In-Feed and Spark Ads first.
Are TikTok Brand Takeover ads still available?
When we checked in October 2026, TikTok’s help centre no longer had a page for Brand Takeover. The app-open spot is now sold as TopView, and in March 2026 TikTok announced Logo Takeover, Prime Time and TopReach for big brands. If an agency offers you a Brand Takeover, ask which product TikTok will actually book, and get the price from TikTok’s sales team in writing.
Can TikTok ads send people to WhatsApp?
Yes. TikTok’s Instant Messaging ads can open a chat in WhatsApp or Messenger when someone taps the button, and Direct Messaging ads keep the conversation inside TikTok. You can also run lead ads with an Instant Form and follow up each lead on WhatsApp. For many Nigerian businesses, this is the shortest path from a video to a sale, as long as someone replies within minutes. Messaging features vary by account, so we confirm yours first. Our WhatsApp marketing services team sets up that side.
What are TikTok lead generation ads?
TikTok lead generation ads collect a buyer’s details without sending them to a website. Someone taps the ad, an Instant Form opens inside TikTok, and their name, phone number or email arrive in your CRM in real time. They suit schools, clinics, property, insurance and other services. Keep the form short, and call or message every lead fast, because a lead nobody contacts is money wasted. Our guide on how to get leads has more ways to fill your pipeline.
Can I run TikTok ads without a website?
For TikTok Ads Manager, TikTok asks for an official business website to approve your account, and a social media profile alone does not count. Once you are approved, many campaigns never send people to the site: Instant Forms, Messaging ads to WhatsApp and Spark Ads to your profile work inside the app. If you have no website, start with Promote, or let our web development team build a simple one.
Is TikTok Shop available in Nigeria?
No. As of October 2026, TikTok Shop is not open to sellers in Nigeria or any other African country. TikTok’s help centre lists 15 Shop markets, including the US, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Brazil, Mexico and South East Asia. So TikTok Shop ads, which now run through GMV Max, are for diaspora and international sellers with a business in a Shop market. Sellers in Nigeria do better with ads that open WhatsApp or a website.
How long before TikTok ads show results?
Expect the first two to three weeks to be about learning. TikTok says an ad group’s results often settle after about 7 days or about 25 conversions, though it varies by campaign, and pausing it or making big changes can restart that learning. Fix real errors at once; leave the rest alone. Messages and leads can start on day one, but the cost per result usually becomes clear in week two or three. That is why our first 30 days include a hands-off learning week.
Why are my TikTok ads not spending?
The usual reasons are a budget at or below TikTok’s minimum, an audience cut too narrow, a target cost set too low for the auction, an ad still waiting for review, or an ad group that keeps being edited. Check that each ad group has more than $20 a day, widen the audience, raise or remove the cost target, and leave it alone for a few days. Our readiness checker covers these in one minute.
Why was my TikTok ad rejected?
TikTok’s most common reasons are exaggerated claims, spelling or caption errors, low-quality video, an ad that does not match its landing page, a broken or non-mobile site, a missing privacy or refund policy, and logos you are not allowed to use, including TikTok’s own. Fix the issue and resubmit, or appeal if you think it was a mistake. TikTok says most ads are reviewed within 24 hours.
Should I use TikTok Promote or Ads Manager?
Use Promote to test a video on a small budget. When we checked from a Nigerian account in October 2026, Promote packs started at ₦800. Use TikTok Ads Manager when you want real targeting, conversion tracking with the Pixel, Spark Ads, lead forms, WhatsApp ads and proper reporting. Ads Manager needs more than $20 a day per ad group, so most businesses graduate to it once a video has proved it can bring messages.
Are TikTok ads better than Facebook ads?
Neither is better for everyone. TikTok tends to win for products that show well on video, for launches and for younger buyers, and its ad reach in Nigeria is now larger than Facebook’s. Meta ads tend to win for steady lead costs, retargeting and older buyers. Most of our clients run the same videos on both and move the budget each week to whichever brings customers cheaper. See our Meta ads page.
Do TikTok ads work for B2B and local businesses?
Yes. TikTok ads for business buyers and local shops work when the offer is clear. Tailor Brands reached small business owners with creator tips videos and a 10.5% visit-to-registration rate, and ReminderMedia cut its cost per lead by 58% with TikTok lead ads, according to TikTok’s case studies. For local businesses, Hammerson targeted shoppers by distance from each centre and saw footfall rise 31%. Local targeting, a reason to visit and fast replies matter more than the industry.
Can a Nigerian TikTok ad account target the UK or US?
TikTok says the locations you can target depend on the country you used to register your ad account, and it does not publish the full list for each country. So we check the targeting options on your own account before we plan a diaspora campaign. Where you have a UK or US business, we can run the campaign from an account registered there. Either way, the account stays in your business’s name.
How do I use TikTok ads for music promotion?
Boost your own best clips, or creator videos using your sound, as Spark Ads to fans of your genre, and link straight to the song on Spotify, Apple Music or Audiomack. The independent label Magnetic Moon got 541,000 video views from just over $2,000 in 14 days this way, according to TikTok. TikTok for Artists launched in Nigeria in 2025 and shows who is using your sound, which helps you pick the clips to boost.
Why do I see TikTok ads on YouTube and TV?
There are two reasons. TikTok itself advertises on YouTube, TV and other channels to bring in new users and advertisers, which is TikTok promoting TikTok. Separately, TikTok’s Out of Phone programme, launched in 2023, shows TikTok videos and ads on screens in places like bars, gyms and venues. When businesses talk about TikTok advertising, they mean ads inside the TikTok app.
What should I ask before hiring a TikTok ads agency?
Ask five things. Whose name is the ad account in? Is the ad budget paid to TikTok from your own card, or through theirs with a markup? What counts as a lead or a sale in their reports? How many new videos do you get each month, and who makes them? And what happens when you leave? Our answers: your name, your card, confirmed customers, 6 to 30 or more new videos depending on the plan, and you keep everything. Our guide to the best digital marketing agencies in Nigeria has more questions worth asking any TikTok marketing agency, including us.
What do you need from me to start TikTok ads?
Your business details and website, a card or method that can pay in US dollars, access to your TikTok account, your best photos and videos, your prices, and someone who can answer messages. If you are in Nigeria, we also need what ARCON asks for to vet the ad. We handle the rest: account setup, Pixel, scripts, editing, launch and reporting. It all starts with one WhatsApp message.
Who owns the TikTok ad account and videos?
You do, from day one. We set up TikTok Business Center, the ad account and the Pixel in your business’s name, with you as the owner, and our team works through partner access you can remove at any time. Your ad budget is paid to TikTok from your own card. The videos we make for you are yours to keep. If we stop working together, you keep everything.
